Good day for Black Rock Farmers Market

Black Rock Farmers Market (located at 30 Royale Avenue Sandringham) enjoyed a good day’s trading, Saturday 14 August 2021.

Even though Victoria’s lockdown (6.0) restrictions were in place, the essential food sellers were permitted to trade. A fine and mild Melbourne winter’s day saw 1,500 to 2,000 shoppers check in.

Over 40 farmers’ market stalls were set up and social distancing protocols were in place. It was great to see the public come out to support our local food traders.

We hope that Spring weather and easing of restrictions will translate into about 3,000 visitors for the October 3rd re-launch of the Beaumaris North Community Market (formerly trading on the same site as Beaumaris Farmers Market) .

Editors note; Black Rock Farmers Market also known as the Royal Avenue Farmers Market, is the Rotary Club of Beaumaris’ other market, held on the second Saturday of the month. Not to be confused with the  newly re launched Beaumaris North Community Market (also formerly aka Regional Farmers Markets Beaumaris), which is situated in Beaumaris North, but some maps place it in Cheltenham. Here’s the list of Bayside farmers markets run Rotary clubs.
